Hi, friends! (and an almost trick)

I won't keep you in suspense on the almost trick... Imogen rolled halfway over. She's actually done it several times. She'll get all the way on her side and stay there for a bit, before flopping back onto her back. She's working on it, though. Both from tummy to back and back to tummy. And it's adorable. :)

She's also loving her new foods. The current roster: rice cereal, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas
No allergies thus far, so that's good.

Here she is, just the other day, in all of her cuteness.
(and sorry to go on and on about 'her cuteness' this, 'her cuteness' that... I just love my girl. she's just so squeezy and perfect! :)

As you can see in the above photo, she is really sprouting some serious fuzz...still not sure what color her hair will be.

Oh, and here's one more photo.  It's of Im and Barry....and I think the camera flash startled both of them!

Barry and Im are great friends. He sleeps in her crib and rides in her carseat...and gets slobbered on....a lot.

Ok. That's all for now.  I'm so thankful for the Lord, and the amazing blessings He has given to me.... providing such joy, even when circumstances are uncertain and shaky.

Love to you all.

How she's growing...

Monday morning was the 4month checkup. (what? my baby is 4 months old? no way.)  I'm happy to report that all is well. She's in the 75% percentile across the board (15lb and 25in) - so she's a pretty big girl.  Dr. Tull gave the go ahead to begin babyfood if Immy seems interested... so far we've tried rice cereal (which she liked) and carrots (which she did not like :).  I've heard that you should give the babies veggies before fruits so they won't start with a sweet tooth. Not sure if that's fact or fiction...but I'll probably try a few more veggies before we break out the bananas and pears.
Oh, and I must add that the shots were traumatizing. Actually, not sure which hurt more, her legs or her feelings.... but she screamed for a good long while (I tried feeding her for 'comfort', but she wouldn't hear of it). I finally got her calmed down enough to leave the office, but she screamed the entire way home... and then told Daddy all about the mistreatment. :)  Poor lovey.

But she's all better now.  See?

In other news:  Last Friday Boppa and Nona stopped by for a visit. Immy had fun playing... and I should have gotten the camera out sooner... This shot was taken right before she went down for a nap. I still think it's cute, though. :)

And Imogen went on her first picnic last week. We had one glorious day in the 70's... so we high-tailed it to the park.  Oh, hint-of-spring, we love you!

Love.

You know that times have changed when...

...your husband is in the office working...you hear him whistling, and find, upon closer listening, that the tune is Hey, Diddle, Diddle.

Yep. We're parents. :)

Hello, hello again -- shaboom, I was hoping we'd meet again!

Oh, gentle folks, it seems that spring is in the air! Granted, we are only partway through February... so I'm sure there's plenty of cold left in this winter. For now, though, sunny days and 60's will do me just fine.

We've been having quite the time in this little house in the big woods (there is a real-live forest in the backyard. trust me.). Here's a photo journal + a few happenings.

Unc. T and Im (she's wearing the cute Threadless T that he got for her)
- it's a whale with piano keys for teeth -

At the end of the week (last week, I think it was), Immy got to meet another real-live Emy! They hit it off immediately.
Emy and Immy

A little later in the week (ha, how much later in the week can we go??), Emy, Kipling and Mr. K's Mama came over to play. Im sported her whale t-shirt, complete with football socks to keep her legs warm.
the sizing up
the almost hug
4 friends
(2 babies and 2 headless mommies)
Oh, and in case I failed to mention, K and I have kids that are the same age distance apart as we are (of course you know who's older).  I think our kids are already friends. This thought makes me happy.

I didn't take pictures of everything we did last week... we took dinner to Reagan's house one night. Yeah, I had my camera... but it never came out of the box. Grr. But we had lots of fun. They are such a cute little family and Immy is so glad she's got a new friend!

Ok. I guess that's enough for now. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
Oh, and I'll leave you with this photo of my Imogen...preparing to eat Sophie.

Lots of love.

Cousins

Now that's a charming bunch. Wouldn't you say? We're missing little Beanie... but she'll be along in a few months and we'll do another photo session.  (hi, Aunt Auty, by the way... we miss you!)

As a last resort (when we learned that Portrait Inov. doesn't do photos on Monday)... we ended up at the Wal-Mart portrait studio with a girl who didn't seem like she had ever used a camera before... that being said, we were thrilled with this result. :)

New Kid on the Next Block Over

We were all so excited that we got to meet Reagan Tyler yesterday!  She is the prettiest little thing, with such lovely black hair - so pretty - she looked like her Momma to me.  J and C looked good, rested, and every part the proud parents. It was so fun to see them!  At three months old, Im looked pretty big next to Reagan - but give it a bit and they'll be the same size, and great friends!

It was odd to be back in L&D for the first time since Immy was born. To look in the nursery and see those tiny babies...and to look at my adorable daughter and be a little surprised at how fast she's growing.  Oh, I pray I can make the most of every second, and thoroughly enjoy each stage as I should!

Naturally, I dutifully packed my camera... and then left it in the car. What?

Welcome, Reagan. Imogen is so glad that you're here!  (and we are too!)

And one more thing:
They tell me that today should be around 65. S-I-X-T-Y-F-I-V-E-D-E-G-R-E-E-S. I don't even care that it'll probably be raining. :)

Warm thoughts to you, wherever you are.
