The Bedtime Story

That's not my dragon... its spots are too slimy.

That's not my baby... she's too enormous! Oh wait, that is, indeed, my baby. And she is, indeed, enormous. 6 months old. Time goes. Quickly.

She cut her first tooth on Saturday. Oddly, a sister and a friend (you know you who are) asked me to send photos. Really? Have you ever tried taking a picture of a baby's bottom gums? Seems rather impossible to me. :)  But it's there, really and truly. One of the front bottom ones is through, and you can see the other one about to break loose as well.  I'm so glad that I can attribute her recent mood swings to teething --- because if it happened to not be teething then it would have had to be something else... and I'm quite bad at figuring this stuff out. :)  Oh, sweet chompers.  And I'll post a picture if I can figure out a way to snap a shot. :)

Hope you all are well. Spring is finally here to stay, although since I just typed that we will probably have a high in the 50's tomorrow. Mark my word.  Nah. Surely not. I mean, right?

Much love to each and every one of you.

April Shower

My baby sister had a baby shower. Doesn't she look lovely?

The girls did a great job and everything looked and tasted amazing! (don't worry, girls, I only ate the edibles.)

My Grandma came out from Kansas as a surprise, and it was so good to see her! Here's the whole motley crew:

And here's a snap of 4 generations - Brooker, Robinson, Pitts, and the Littlest (hollering) Campbell

And here's Auty - opening presents for the baby.

So now all we need is the baby to arrive. I CAN NOT WAIT to meet my niece!!

And Immy is all ready for her cousin to come out and play...
Told ya.

Rainy Saturdays are a Delight

Saturday dawned cloudy and rainy. It stayed that way all day.  This changed the plans of every member of our Campbell family. T had an early tee-time.... while Im and I had plans to garage sale.   As you well know, rainy days just aren't conducive to these activities, so we did something else instead.

VMFA is hosting an exhibition from the Musée national Picasso Paris. T and I saw these sculptures and paintings in Paris a couple years ago, but we had no idea that we would someday have a darling daughter who shared a birthday with Mr. P himself.  Anyway, enough of this.
The museum was packed full on Saturday. The rain drives them in. But we weren't thinking that we'd see the Picasso stuff that day, we were just doing a 'test run' with babygirl, to see if she museum'd. And she did. Beautifully.
she enjoys people more than paintings.

someone is studying a tapestry. someone else is studying a daddy.

After we walked around in the quiet parts for a while we found a bench by the window and stopped for a rest.

and a giraffe snack

my girl and me

All in all, a really fun outing. VMFA is such a nice place to go -- even if art isn't your thing it's fun to walk around.

Here's my girly, holding daddy, walking back to the car.
Mercy. We love this kid.

Visits

A couple weeks ago Burke, Aden and Aunt Janky came to visit us. We had lots of fun and for the life of me I can't understand how my sister is so skilled at cutting baby nails! :)
Here are a couple photos of Im and the boys

(get used to it, kid)

Burke had his tonsils out later that week and had a bit of a rough go of it, but we're so glad that he's feeling better now!

This past weekend was Addie and Kevin's pretty wedding (don't ask if I got pictures), so Friday night we headed up north (with a car full of food and bedding) to stay the night with B in his cute little house (he moved up there a month + ago). We had lots of fun and he was the perfect host.

Daddy and Immy.
She's all ready for bed and did really well sleeping in her packnplay in a brand new place!

Imogen and Unc B -- all ready for the wedding
The wedding was fun -- the bride and groom were adorable.  There was a nice picnic lunch for all of the guests afterward. It was unseasonably chilly for April and cloudy -- but luckily no rain.

After the wedding we went to the zoo.
Where is the keeper??!!
Burke is still recovering from his surgery so we went over to visit him and had lots of fun hanging out with the boys. Aunt Janky worked her magic on Immy's nails... then rocked her to sleep for a good nap. Ahh. :)

After that we went to Clare and Molly's for dinner with several other couples, which was fun. All in all a fun and busy weekend.

So, that's about it.  Im's still growing like a little dandelion. I found her a 'car' on craigslist and she's having fun toddling around in it. Proof? From this very morning.

Love to you all from we three.

the giveaway you already know about...

I know, I know, you've already heard about Kelsey's Starbucks giveaway. I mean, right?  Well, in the off chance that you haven't... you should go and visit http://astoryofus.wordpress.com/ and try your hand at winning some coffee.  And while you're at it, if you don't already follow Kelsey's zany adventures, you should spend your lunch break reading her blog. It will make you smile, right over the top of your sandwich.  I promise.

Ok, love to all and a 'real' post coming soon.  Not today though because we're having another day in the 80's... and apparently 'spring' in this state means one warm day every few weeks.  What?!
:)
