we're off to see the wizard

This baby is on her way to TX in the morning. Hopefully we'll sneak in a few posts while there. Pray for the trip... and pray we don't miss T too badly!

a fuzzy little update

Im had her 15mo check yesterday. She's still a tall girl for her age, 31" (75%), and pretty much in proportion for weight, 23.5 lb (65%). Between tears for her sweet doctor she read her a book (seriously, she had tears streaming down her face while she was pointing to the pictures and telling her doc the words. I was surprised because it usually takes her a little bit to warm up to people). Of course she wouldn't say "Dr. Tull", even though she knows how, but Dr. Tull recorded it in her chart anyway. :)

Ok, it was the cutest thing ever... backup... you know how kids tapes are super annoying, but you blast them in the car anyway and sing along at the top of your voice because you know your baby loves it (either that -OR- when you get in the car you put the sound in the back speakers and try to visit with your spouse)?
We do both.
Anyway, we were going somewhere the other day and she was listening to her current favorite disc. We had just endured an extended version of "Hot Cross Buns", so we breathed a sigh of relief when it ended. Then we hear her in the backseat softly singing "bah, bah, bahsss".
That track is now on auto repeat.
:)

Ok, it's a pretty day so we're going outside. More later... these next two months are packed tightly with fun stuff. Some of that fun includes hanging out with some of you that I don't get to see nearly enough. And accompanying violin students i haven't seen in a good while. And a special family wedding!
Looking forward to the fun!

Sorry for lack of photos!
Love!

a-few-words-thursday

This reminds me of talks I have with my friend about how we probably annoy our babies by kissing the daylights out of them :)
May they continue to put up with us.

good morning, good morning! we talked the whole night through....

(anyone else know Singing in the Rain?)

And the line "we talked the whole night through" will strike you as hilarious if you are a new parent. And of course I'm just quoting a song lyric. Nothing is literal here.

Smile smile happy Monday. This iPad ain't so great for blog posts. I mean, it works ok but it's very basic. So no more of those super fancy posts you were used to from my posts that came from the laptop.

Huh?

Imogen loves books. A true daughter of T. She spends a good portion of her day paging through her books, or bringing a book to be read. It's cute. She has her favorites and anticipates the next page and has certain things she looks for on each page. Many times she's tottered off and all is quiet and I start to be scared that it's a little TOO quiet and I run to her room expecting a mess...and there she is, just looking at her books. :). Someday I'll be expecting books and I'll find a mess, I'm sure.

She also loves to walk, and many times we try to carry her she'll say "wok wok" and try to wriggle away. I'm sure you can imagine how this has the potential to make all types of activities a challenge. But she does enjoy books...so she sits still for books.
We'll call this the silver lining.

She says a billion words. Or at least attempts a billion words, as sometimes they don't sound just right. But each and every of the billion is adorable.

She also likes her glasses, and regularly wears them around the house.

She loves to sing "Up up up" and "March". She accidentally (i use this word loosely) saw a YouTube clip of Elmo on the iPad and so now she calls the iPad "Elmo".
A clip or two.

Ok, she has decided this book reading session is over, which means this blogging session must end, too. :) sorry for the disjointedness of all this.
Aw man, and I remembered I wanted to do a New Year post... Hmm, maybe in a bit. Pretty sure none of you are holding your breath.

A load of love to you all.

THE PICTURES!

run, run, as fast as you can...

Happy New Year, dear friends!

On the eve of 2012 we found ourselves at a "Pairs and Sets" party. We chose to attend as the Gingerbread Baby, and the little old couple that made the gingerbread baby. I know, I know, not the most obvious set, but it was chosen because A) Immy adores the Gingerbread Man story and brings it to an empty lap several times a day,
And B) we found a gingerbread man costume.

She hated the hat, and wore it very little. And she had to wear shoes because the suit was rather large, and the feet bottoms were fuzzy fabric, making them pretty slick for a newly walking gingerbread baby.

Anyway, the party was fun and there were some really great costumes. I wish I had more pictures, but I just snapped a couple on t's phone. You'll have to see pictures from someone else.

So the new year is off to a great start. I'll try to be back soon with news of my little one. She's super super fun - T and I are still amazed by her every day. A very lovable little girl, indeed.

Happy 2012!
