oh, pretty saturday.

oh thursday, Davie and Auty came for a pre-birthday splash (d's bday is June 1).

yesterday the weather was perfect. t set up the little swing set we found on Craigslist, while Immy and I watched and did a bit of outside work.

last night we went to Pocahontas state park with a picnic dinner, the Richmond Youth Symphony was giving a concert, and the evening was so nice. G, A, and Davie joined us for the fun.

ah, and for the record...Im has been napping so much better the past 3 days. she's kinda been a hit and miss napper for most of her life, so when she takes consistent 1 1/2+ hr naps a day, it's like the heavens have opened. haha, ok so maybe not that drastic, but for a tired mama, a bit of down time in the day is usually welcome.

and thanks to you all for asking about how I've been feeling...I really am feeling great...hello second tri! and i've been surprised about how quickly my baby tummy has shown...i've heard it happens faster after the first baby. no joke, I guess.

a couple snaps to end:
This one I took yesterday, she brought her bear out of her room, along with a diaper, then she proceeded to bring to the living room all the diapers she could find

and one last one of these girlies

Sweetest ever.
Love.

A good day, indeed.

Today was a fun day. This morning we got to go and hear our new Little...those quick heartbeats made us all smile. All is well on the new baby front, and I'm really feeling so good.

Then this evening I had a recital for my 3 piano students. Josephine graciously leant her fellowship hall, and I think everyone had a good time. And Michael's mom and dad brought lots of super-delicious, homemade Asian food...we were glad that we waited on dinner. :) Big thanks to the sweet kids for their hard work (the trio even worked out!), and to the mom's for all their help with the reception!

Then home for a bath.

And all is well.
Love.

She broke the bread into two fragments, and gave them to the children, who ate with avidity. "She has kept none for herself," grumbled the sergeant. "Because she is not hungry," said a soldier. "Because she is a mother," said the sergeant.

- Victor Hugo

I'm thankful today (and every other day), that I get to be Mama to these kids...and I pray that I can show just a glimpse of God's great love to them, and teach them in the way they should go.

This mothering business is tougher than I imagined, but such good, rewarding work...wouldn't you say?

Happy Mothers Day!

18 whole months

Full fun weekend. Took part in a garage sale...and our attic looks better now, even if our junk didn't go for much. Also, had fun getting to spend a little time with Clayton, Angie, and the boys while they were here.

Yesterday Im went to visit the doctor for an 18 mo. checkup. She hated every minute. She started crying when the nurse walked in the room and basically kept it up at varying levels until the appointment was over. Even when Dr. Tull and I were just visiting, Immy sobbed with her head on my shoulder. Poor baby. She got her last shot...and won't get another one until she's 4 years old. Happy news right there.
Aside from the crying, she checked out great. 32 1/2" (75%), 26 lb (85%).

Today was a better day for Imogen. Whitney, Kamryn, Chauntee, Auty, and Davie all came to have lunch and play. Of course we all had fun. Immy was too wound up for a nap after everyone went home...but we took a walk and she went to sleep, then transferred beautifully to her bed (it's usually hit or miss with a transfer). Now I'm wondering if I should wake her so she can have a normal bedtime, or just let her sleep.....

I'll close with a couple snaps from a few days ago.

Funny story.

Immy does pretty well knowing who's stuff is who's. She will see the toothbrushes on the side of the sink, pick up one and say, "Dada's", and sure enough, it'll be T's brush. Or shoes. She can point to the shoes (inevitably lying about the house) and tell you which are "Mama's" or "Dada's" or "Amah's" (Immy's).
So when I found this yesterday....

...I said, "Immy, who's cup is that?"
She takes another long drink, looks up at me and says, "Mine."

Oh, this kid.

And I'm feeling better, day by day. There are still definite times in the day when I get the quease...but I think it's getting better. Thanks to you all for the kind words and wishes! And much thanks to husband and daughter for bearing with me so often!!

We had a lovely lovely weekend. Jeremy and Sydney were here with us (no pics, deepest apologies, Syd.), and we had fun hanging out and going to the wedding! Oh, and the guys golfed, and we shopped a little. Much fun.

Oh, and I meant to share this pic a couple weeks ago. I'm so thankful for these two little girls, they bring so much sunshine to our world! And I'm glad they'll grow up like sisters, but hopefully fight less than real sisters do...we'll see :).

Love.

a new littlest campbell

indeed. we anticipate the arrival of our second sweet baby, december 4. and we are overjoyed!

after a wretched, wretched bout with food borne illness a week ago, i haven't been the same. my midwife says that the food poisoning probably ushered in the morning sickness...gotta love that....in my head i feel so much worse than i did while early pregnant with Immy .... but maybe i've just forgotten. :)

i think Imogen is going to make a very sweet big sister.

we're packy play training for camp this weekend...this is night 3 of training...the first 2 nights didn't work at all...but i think she's in there sleeping peacefully now, without so much as a whimper going down....this could work yet!!

love to you all.

These posts have been lacking, indeed. We've been hanging out outside as much as possible, so I'll claim that as an excuse.

Imogen will be 18mo this month. She is so fun, talking all the time and just generally being adorable. Granted, we've seen a fit or two. And last week we had a few very unfun teething nights, but this week has been smooth sailing, sleeping all night...although I don't think those eye teeth have come through yet, so I fear we'll have a few more teething nights before too long. Poor baby.

Imogen loves reading books, and sometimes I'll put her in the zebra chair and she'll sit up there for a good while, taking books off the shelf and paging through them. I've found that 25 mins is plenty of time to get a few things done while she's happily reading (except that I interrupt my work because I like to peek in to watch her read :).

Immy also likes to play the piano. She likes me to put her up on the bench and she plays a few notes, and then turns the page of whatever music I have open on the stand, and then she plays a few more notes. It's very fun to watch. Oh, and she's becoming fiercely independent, as I learned the other day when I was sitting with her at the piano. She was manning the treble notes and I had the bass when she leaned over and tried to push my hands off the keys. "Wait. Wait.", she said. And then, "Get down.".
It'll be hard the be ensemble partners with an attitude like that. :)
Oh well, it only takes one to enjoy Haydn....

Her favorite song remains. Hot Cross Buns. And we're only in the car for about 2 seconds before she's asking to hear it. And she sings it around the house. And she'll sometimes play the rhythm on the piano while she sings (not the pitch of course, she's not Mozart).... and it never gets old, I tell ya.

She also loves the iPad. And if she'll sit and read books for 20 mins, she'll easily double that time with the iPad in her paws. She likes scrolling through the photos and vid clips, and looking at her abc flash cards. She has no problem navigating this thing.
The times. How they're changing.

I'll close for now. We're having a fun weekend, what with dinner with Bryan and Rae last night, and then my sis, bro in law, and nephews coming down this evening.

Hope your weekend is fun, too. Don't eat too many choc bunnies!
