9?

This girly is 9 whole months big.  How is this possible?

Here's whats up in the world of Imogen:
weight: 19lb (50th percentile)
height: 28" (75th percentile)
She loves: eating (cereal bars, cheese, fruit, cheerios); feeding herself said foods; jumping in her jumper thing; hearing music; waving hi/bye; taking baths; pulling all of the toys out of the box; long, thoughtful stares; making kissy sounds; saying 'dada' over and over (it never gets old!)
She doesn't love: baby food; being left unattended for more than a minute or two; afternoon naps (sometimes); large crowds; nasty ol shots; sternly being told 'no'; nursing when she doesn't want to; having to wait; growing teeth

She's working on crawling and she likes to stand and hold on to things (if you help her up). She sleeps all night like an old pro (now if her momma could just remember how......).

She really is the sweetest, squeeziest thing you'll ever see - her daddy and I are completely smitten and we wonder how we ever got along without her.

I snapped this shot the other night during dinner:

And it reminded me of another shot that I snapped of the two of them - the day she was born.

My heart melts.

Oh time, where do you go?  Again, I'm praying that I'm making the most of every single second!

Love to you all from we three.

wild ponies

We corralled the kids yesterday and felt a little sorry for the photographer that had the job of making everyone look and smile in the same direction.  Imogen, as anyone who knows her could attest, had no smiles. Only long and thoughtful (open mouthed) stares,  which is usually the way it goes when there are new and interesting things to look at!
All in all, the 4 of them did great. Of course the boys are old pros, and they did a great job keeping the girls happy!

This is one sweet bunch -- oh, I love these kids!

Good thoughts from a friend.

My friend, Kristy D., posted this on her blog, and I loved it so much I asked if she would mind if I shared it with the readers here. It brought tears to my eyes.... I think she says it oh-so-well.

Interesting Thought

You know how it is when you're young....or, maybe not so young. You tend to look at people with an incredibly critical eye.

Even yourself. Especially yourself.

And you find things you don't like.

Especially for us girls, many of these things-we-don't-like are on the surface. We don't like our hair, our body shape, our short toes, our freckles....you name it, some girl somewhere has a bit of a complex over it.

Or we find things that are different about others and point them out. Maybe we even laugh at them.

Then somewhere along in your life you have a baby. And you realize, hey...this baby has no choice in how they look. There may be some imperfections, some quirks, but to you, your baby is perfect.

Absolutely PERFECT!! She is gorgeous...beyond BEAUTIFUL!

And that's how it is for everyone you see. Each one is a miracle. They had no choice in who they are, what they look like, their personality, their background. And somehow, in the moments when you can remember this, realizing that helps you be a lot less critical, and appreciate the uniqueness of each individual.

Including yourself.

I'm learning. Slooooowly.

Thanks, Kristy, for the reminder. I pray I can teach my daughter (by, *gulp*, example) that she is fearfully and wonderfully made. Just right. Just the way she is.  And to teach her to accept others in the same way.

Your prayers are appreciated in this endeavor... it seems a difficult task.   I'm learning 'sloooowly' , too! :)

Love to you.

all better now

I'm happy to report that Imogen is all better. And she's looking forward to seeing her friends in Charlottesville tomorrow!

Gotta share one more from the park:

or two....

This baby doesn't feel well.

It's just a summertime cold (although 'just' doesn't feel like 'just' when it's your very own precious that doesn't feel well, doesn't sleep well, doesn't breathe well, etc.).  I think she's feeling better today. She ran a fever a couple of nights ago, but I haven't seen any sign of fever recently. Her stuffiness is getting better, which is helping with the sleep thing (yippee!).  So, I'm pretty sure she's on the mend!

A big thanks to my sweet hub, who sat with our girly yesterday for a couple of hours so I could walk around Target and blink slowly to ward off the crazies that come with a sick baby.  :)

Hope you all are well.  Love to you.

jumpy, jumpy

Imogen borrowed a jumper from a friend, and she has been loving it!

I'm worn out (more on this later) and can't think of words... but I will share a couple photos I snapped of my girl getting in some early morning jumps.

Here's where I kinda sneaked up on her:

And here is where she knew she was on camera:

Wouldn't you know it.

Love to each and every one.
Nigh-nigh.

Happy Birthday, America.

We spent July 4th at my Mom and Dad's.  All of our family was there, plus Donald, Janni, Craig - Joel, Janet, Bronwyn and Whitney Amyett.  We had a yum cookout, and then just visited and played games.  A huge storm came through in the late afternoon and I was afraid that it would be crazy trying to drive home in it... but luckily things calmed down and we had smooth sailing going home.

Here are some favorite photos from the day:

All in all a fun day.

In other news, Immy is going through a bit of a clingy stage that started a couple weeks ago. All of a sudden she only wants her mom and dad. So, if anyone tries to hold her she cries and cries until she's back in the arms of her parents.  This goes for grandparents, aunties, Kim Clem (!!), you name it.  I've heard it's just a phase that she'll outgrow, and I really hope so... not that I don't love holding my girl (you know I do)... but I want her to be social.  And she is.... as long as Mama's holding her.  :)

Much love to all... hope you're all staying cool!
